Take a Walk
While joining the local gym or buying exercise equipment for your home is an excellent idea, if you do not actually go to the gym or you do not actually use the equipment, it will just put a big dent in your wallet, take up space and make you feel like a failure. Instead, start off by walking whenever and wherever possible. Regularly walk the dog or take strolls with your mate or a friend. Don't park closest to the entrance. Instead, park the farthest. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Drink an Adequate Amount of Water
Research shows that water has several health benefits. It flushes out toxins, aids in proper liver and kidney functions and prevents dehydration. Although the "8 x 8 rule" (8 glasses of 8 ounces each) per day is an easy, widely accepted rule by health care professionals, you can get a more precise idea of how much water you should drink in a day based on your weight, level of exercise, alcohol intake, the climate you live in and other factors. Try using this Hydration Calculator (link below) to determine how much water you should drink daily.

Passive Exercise
Although not a substitute for a regular exercise routine which incorporates cardio and weight training, those individuals who hate or cannot find the time for a formal exercise session can still incorporate some exercises while doing simple household chores or even while sitting on the couch watching television. Doing something is certainly better than nothing and even small amounts of activity, done often enough, can make a difference in the long run.
Drink Green Tea
In numerous studies, including one conducted by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, it has been discovered that consumption of green tea extract significantly increases the fat oxidation (the body's ability to burn fat) and boosts metabolism, which may aid with weight loss. Green tea extract also comes in capsule form. Because green tea generally contains large amounts of caffeine, it may not be suitable for individuals who have certain medical disorders or conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart conditions, kidney disease, blood clotting problems, or nervous and anxiety disorders. However, both the tea leaves and capsules are available in decaffeinated form.
